Gateley Smithers Purslow Consulting Engineers and Surveyors, whose Head Office is at Glaston in Rutland, is delighted to officially announce the opening of its new office in West Bridgford, Nottingham. This is the sixth office that Gateley Smithers Purslow now have, with the other five offices being in Glaston, Newcastle, London, Reading and Exeter, thus ensuring that it continues to provide UK wide coverage.

After nearly 11 years of travelling to and working from the Head Office, Midlands Director, Mike Boast, commented; ‚ÄúThe Midlands team have really enjoyed working alongside the excellent staff at Glaston, however, following recruitment in the region over the last few years the new Nottingham office will ensure a closer working relationship within the department‚Äù. Mike continued; ‚ÄúThis move opens up an exciting new chapter and we can’t wait to establish our presence in Nottingham and the surrounding areas. In the coming weeks and months, we will be looking to carry out marketing and enhance Gateley Smithers Purslow’s reputation in the Midlands region, in line with our business growth strategy‚Äù.

The opening of the Nottingham office is a further sign of the continued growth of Gateley Smithers Purslow and the success of its “Five Year Plan”, which is the result of much hard work, determination and above all professional teamwork.

Gateley Smithers Purslow currently employs over sixty people, and in 2016, the firm was the first in the professional services sector to be given ‘Investors in People Platinum’ status which, at the time, was one of only 16 businesses to achieve this accolade worldwide.

Alongside general engineering and surveying consultancy, Gateley Smithers Purslow offers specialist buildings insurance services, as well as architectural and planning design and advice. The firm has public and private sector clients in the insurance, property and construction industries, working with estate/property owners and managers, large corporations, developers and high-net worth individuals.

When the business was founded in May 1978, Norman Smithers and Graham Purslow rented a small office on High Street, Oakham, employing an administration assistant and a draughtsman. Norman Smithers recently reflected on the company’s growth, saying to the Directors: ‚ÄúI feel very proud of what you have done here.‚Äù

Director, Andrew Bussey, comments: “A key factor to our ongoing success is that we have this chameleon-like ability to evolve and provide differing services that meet the needs of an ever-growing client base. People, however, are the backbone of a business, and as is evidenced by our Investors in People Platinum accreditation, we support and reward them. Great things in business are never delivered by just one person; they are achieved by a dedicated team of people.”

Gateley Smithers Purslow is currently celebrating 40 years in business and to mark the milestone the firm is working towards raising £40,000 for local and national charities.
