Smithers Purslow Structural Engineers & Building Surveyors oversaw the insurance related repairs to the grade 2 listed St Andrews Anglican Church in Ramsbottom; following a devastating lightning strike that destroyed part of the Church Tower and caused extensive damage to the Church interior.

The Tower & the North east pinnacle were rebuilt together with re-roofing works to the Nave together with the rebuilding of the west end balcony and narthex/ entrance areas. The completed works included improved toilet & kitchen facilities and the installation of an enclosed meeting room under the restored balcony. Redecoration, rewiring and new lighting completed the transformation.
