Uppingham Community College ACE Day – Gateley Smithers Purslow attends Year 10 Work and Careers Event
Technical Director, Alex Wright, was delighted to talk to Year 10 students at Uppingham Community College about Gateley Smithers Purslow’s services and being a Building Surveyor last week as part of their Work and Careers theme on the school’s ACE Day.
It was a well-thought-out and well-run event, as the students were able to pick the speakers they wanted to hear from, with good audience participation throughout.
Alex presented to around 3 groups of 8/10 Year 10 Uppingham Community College students and gave them an insight into the day-to-day life of a Building Surveyor, the career choices and routes available, as well as a light-hearted game of “guess the value” of some of the types of projects that Gateley Smithers Purslow gets involved in.
At the end of his presentation Alex handed each of the students a Gateley Smithers Purslow bag-for-life, containing a selection of goodies. Smiles all around and a great finish to what has surely been an extremely difficult year for students everywhere.
