Smithers Purslow go PLATINUM

Smithers Purslow has become the first business operating in the UK’s construction and insurance sectors to be awarded Platinum ‘Investors in People’ status.  It joins only 15 other UK businesses to achieve this standard. 

Smithers Purslow exceeded the industry average in all nine of Investors in People’s key performance indicators covering leadership, support and improvement, and was described by its assessor as ‘a forward-thinking organisation, an excellent place to work and extremely customer focused with great clarity for its purpose, vision and objectives’.  

The business was applauded for its high staff retention, below average sickness and absenteeism, strong commitment to providing excellent customer service, effective and inspirational role model behaviour from leaders, strong embedded values and communication of business aims, atmosphere of inclusion and robust training and recruitment programmes. 

Smithers Purslow has been involved with Investors in People since 2001 when it achieved standard status. Since then additional tiers have been added to the accreditation framework culminating in the highest, Platinum, this year. Director, Steve Fraser, comments: “The Platinum accolade has exceeded our expectations, confirming our commitment to be a great employer and place to work. 

“Between assessment periods we further streamlined our processes, developed a greater focus on our business goals and empowered people even more to reach their full potential. Investors in People marketing and sales manager, Neil Farish, is coming on Thursday 3rd November 2016 to officially present their Platinum Award to Smithers Purslow Directors Steve Fraser & Andy Bussey. Guests present included Foreign Office Minister Sir Alan Duncan, The High Sheriff of Rutland Dr Sarah Furness, Rutland County Councillor Oliver Hemsley, the Mayor of Uppingham Alec Crombie & Rob Persani from Rutland Radio as well as photographers from the Stamford Mercury/Rutland Times & Leicester Mercury.
